There is an artistic side to pole dancing, blending dance, gymnastics, and aerobics. A vertical ballet requiring strength, coordination, grace, and agility; it provides a conduit for individual creativity and “free form” interpretation of established movements. The true sensuality of pole dancing, is not based in the sexual origins of the Gentlemen’s Club, it is based in the awesome and seemingly effortless body control a dancer portrays, it is based in the whole body consciousness the dancer experiences.
Perhaps the true power of pole dancing is that it allows us to celebrate the beauty, complexity, strength, vulnerability, and joy; the height and the depth of being Woman.
